The annual budget vote and trustee election for the Goshen Public Library and Historical Society will take place on Wednesday, April 12 from 8 AM to 8 PM at the library on 203 Main Street.

Voters will be asked to approve a real property tax of $496,736 (a $22,944 increase over last year for the library's operating expenditures. This budget proposition translates into an estimated library tax of 44 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuation based on last year's equalization rates. A Goshen home assessed at $150,00 would pay a library tax of $66.39 ($1.88 more than last year.)

Voters will also be asked to elect three trustees. Running for re-election to five year terms are Patty Garnett and Linda Hannigan. Running for election to complete the unexpired term of Cindy Zalkin in Janet Markewicz.

Registration for May children's programs will take place by walk-in lottery on Wednesday, April 12 between 9 AM and 5 PM. Pokemon fans should be alert to a visit from Pikachu on the same day between the hours of 2:30 and 4:30 PM. Pikachu will dispense treats and direct a simple craft. All children must be accompanied by an adult, no preregistration is necessary. Bring your camera for a photo opportunity.
