Thanks to a $1000 grant from Assemblyman Howard Mills, Goshen children were treated to a series of educational and entertaining porgrams this summer. This grant came as a result of the efforts of Randall Enos, youth consultant, and Tony Knipp, Board President of the Ramapo Catskill Library System. The Goshen Public Library used the money to provide extra programming as part of the Discover 2000 Read Summer Reading Club. A portable planetarium was set up to allow our young "stargazers" to get a glimpse of the night sky; rocket science expert and teacher Kathy Sahl conducted a rocket launch at Erie Street playground; storyteller Madelyn Folino held her audience spellbound with stories, new and old; and our final "Blast off with Books" party included music by Beth and Scott Bierko. Mr. Mills attended the party to share refreshments and handshakes with the children and their parents and to congratualte them on reading over 3,400 books over the course of the summmer. Assemblyman Mills' support of the children's reading efforts gave an extra boost to an already fun filled summer
