BE A PART OF THE COMMUNITY

The Friends of the Goshen Public Library and Historical Society was incorporated in 1998, although the group has been active in the library since the early nineteen seventies. Originally the friends helped as volunteers by processing and shelving books and doing general library duties to help the professional staff.

Today their role has expanded to include raising money to provide grants for library materials, equipment and facilities, encouraging volunteers to assist the library staff and sponsoring various library programs put on for the public.

Annually the Friends sponsor three book sales, one during Goshen's Great American Weekend, one in May and one in the Fall. To get ready for these sales they spend many hours year round sorting donated books.

Friends receive the library's newsletter and updates on Friends of the Goshen Public Library and Historical Society activites and meetings, including our annual election meeting.
