April was an extremely busy month for children's services here at the library. We had an exciting visit by Blue of Blue's Clues with more than three hundred kids and adults showing up to meet this popular TV character. Piciures were taken, a craft was made and a good time was had by all.We also helped celebrate National Poetry Month with a popular program called Pizza Poets. Children were able to combine their love of poetry with their love of pizza which culminated in an evening presentation of poetry reading for family and friends. We were fortunate to have members of Mrs. Burrow's 5th grade class participate and share their poetic creations with the group. Channel 6 news showed highlights of the program on the evening news which was a special treat for the participants.
We have some great Spring activities coming up and many of you came in to register for them. We still have some registration sheets that need to be picked up, so that you will know which program your child may attend. Please call or come into the library for this information.
Remember to come into the library in June to pick up a flyer for this year's summer reading club. We will all join in to "Celebrate! Read!" Flyers will also be sent home through the schools in June, so keep an eye out. There will be more details in future articles.
